Capital Fund Campaign (Click for full article)

Commander Jon Conroe - 2/7/2025

Esteemed Comrades and Auxiliary members,

Over the past months a committee was formed to restructure and kick off our capital fund campaign. After receiving feedback from local leaders regarding the original campaign goals, we have revised the goals of the campaign. The original goal was $1.5 million. After careful review of all the categories, securing bids, and planning for what best serves our long-term goals we were able to reduce the amount of the goal from $1.5 million to $715,379.

I am writing to you today to announce that on the evening of Wednesday, February 26, we are inviting several key business leaders and community influencers to attend our capital fund campaign kickoff. This will be a time for the committee members and leaders within the auxiliary and our VFW to meet with those invited to share our goals, challenges, and plans to meet this five year campaign. We will be seeking their guidance, input, and support.

Our post is recognized as being a pillar of support and patriotism. Through the years and even now we have been blessed with committed volunteers. Yet our post has aged as has our membership. The goal of this campaign is to provide critical upgrades to our post that we might remain a vibrant and available institution for community gathering and patriotic pride.

We have a list of local leaders and supporters that we will be inviting. If you can think of such a leader that you believe we should include, please contact our committee co-chairs: Theresa Reed at theresa@vfw7765.org or Dick Wambach at richardlw47@gmail.com at your earliest opportunity.

We also seek your thoughts and prayers as we take this bold step together. Together we can accomplish this 5 year campaign and continue to show our community that our service to others continues long after our service in the armed forces ceased.

With gratitude,
Jon Cpnroe
